Last week, our founder and steward Ashara Ekundayo had the pleasure of joining journalist and producer Qetselawork Seifu for a 2-part conversation for Arts TV World in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The power of water, Blackness in the Diaspora, lessons from permaculture, Black women as culture bearers, and the significance of site-responsive ceremony were some of the topics they touched on. AfroPortals Project Space at the Black Joy Parade

AfroPortals Project Space & Archive Activation at the 7th Annual Black Joy Parade - Sunday, Feb 25th!

We will be activating our AfroPortals Project Space at the Black Joy Parade on Sunday, February 25th featuring New Film and Digital Artwork from Adrian Burrell plus LIVESTREAM conversations & performance with Black cultural workers in South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Nigeria!

The parade begins on 14th and Franklin in downtown Oakland, 12pm - 7pm. We hope to see y’all there!
