AfroPortals: #BlackAugust Letters to Liberation

Enjoy more amazing Art, Creativity, and Storytelling inside the AfroPortals at the Levitt VIBE Oakland Music Series. This will be the 5th Weekend of amazing art work, storytelling, live music, shopping, and tasty food at Liberation Park. Discover new tunes from DuPont Brass Band, Saturday August 24th, at Liberation Park, from 3 to 7pm.

In collaboration with EastSide Art Alliance’s Archive (CARP), we have put together a one-day exhibition ‘Letters to Liberation: Black August’ featuring letters written by the San Quentin Six from their Soledad Mothers special collection, art posters, pamphlets and other publications that honor the freedom fighters of the Black Liberation Movement, abolitionists, and those who fight against systemic oppression and racism.
